At her second show in Prague on May 27, British pop star Dua Lipa treated fans to a special moment when she brought Czech-Polish singer Ewa Farna on stage for an impromptu duet. The surprise: Lipa had performed Farna’s hit “Na ostří nože” the night before, singing its original Czech lyrics, as “Na ostrzu” in Poland. The show was quickly shared on social media and caught the eye of music fans on both sides of the border.
Farna's Response and the Sudden Stage Appearance
Ewa Farna, a fan of the group, had been in attendance at the concert and was surprised to discover Lipa singing her song. She also shared a video of her letting out excited and disbelieving yelps. “Dua Lipa is singing my song!” she wrote with the video, adding, “From today on, I’m calling her Dualinga. How the hell did she pull off that Czech?? ” — jokingly, referencing the language learning app Duolingo.
Dua Lipa told the crowd at her second show, “Last night something special happened — I sang in Czech for the first time. But I didn’t realize the beautiful lady that sang the song in the first place was in the audience.” But forgoing a second song, she welcomed Farna to the stage and the two performed a stunning duet, one they only rehearsed just hours before.

Dua Lipa, who is of Albanian-Kosovar descent and a three-time Grammy Award winner, had also been including songs from the region in her concerts as a way to honor the countries she visits. Ewa Farna, a Polish born Czech, became a sensation after winning talent contests in each such country. A silver and gold disc holder, Seitl was the first singer to receive gold and platinate awards with her debut album issued in the year 2006.A notable factor in her singing career is her work for the benefit of the Polish minouterity in the Czech Republic.
The duet was a heartwarming recognition of the connection of both culture and talent, showcasing the high point of Dua Lipa’s world tour.
