Poland Defeats Kenya to Reach Last 16 at Volleyball Worlds

Poland’s women’s volleyball team booked their place in the last 16 of the FIVB World Championship in Thailand after a 3-1 (25- 17, 15-25, 25-15, 25-14) win over Kenya on Monday. The result sets up a decisive Group G match against Germany on Wednesday, with both teams unbeaten so far.

Match Highlights Against Kenya
The Poles started strongly, racing ahead in the first set thanks to Martyna Czyrniańska’s precise attacks and serves, before sealing it 25-17. Kenya bounced back in the second set, taking advantage of Polish errors to level the match with a 25-15 win.

Poland regained full control in the third set, dominating from the start as Magdalena Stysiak closed it out 25-15. Kenya briefly led 6-3 in the fourth, but Poland quickly recovered. With Czyrniańska’s powerful serving and consistent play, the White and Reds pulled clear to secure the final set 25-14.
Czyrniańska finished as Poland’s top scorer with 15 points, closely followed by Martyna Łukasik with 14.

Next Test Against Germany
The victory follows Poland’s earlier 3-1 win over Vietnam, ensuring progression to the knockouts. Their next clash with rivals Germany will determine who tops Group G. Poland’s group stage matches are being hosted in Phuket as part of the wider championship across Thailand.
