Aleksandra Mirosław Clinches Speed Climbing Gold in Bali

The Polish speed climber Aleksandra Mirosław is back on top form after taking gold in the IFSC Climbing World Cup in Bali, Indonesia. The Olympic champion defeated China’s Yafei Zhou in the final in 6.37 seconds. It’s her 13th career World Cup win in speed climbing. Only last week in Wujiang, Mirosław came sixth so this win is a good come back.

Olympic Champion Enhances Her Legacy
Mirosław would become a national star in Poland and went on to win gold at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. She raised the bar at the Games, climbing up in a record-setting 6.06 seconds. With her victory here in Bali she is now one of the heavyweights in the sport.

Other Polish athletest and record breaking results
The other Polish climber to enter, Aleksandra Kałucka, a medalist in bronze at the Paris Olympics, finished ninth in Bali. In the men’s draw, meanwhile, American climber Samuel Watson produced a record-breaking performance. He bettered the world record in the semi-finals with a 4.67 second run, then broke it in the finals by a further 0.03 of a second.

The 2025 World Cup Series To Watch For
The 2025 IFSC CWC will comprise 18 events in 14 venues, six of which are the ones dedicated to Speed Climbing. One of these will be held in Krakow, in southern Poland, on July 5–6 and another opportunity for the home crowd to cheer their champions.
