A Shot at the Champions' Roster
The Knicks enter the new season on the back of their first NBA title since 1973, having beaten the San Antonio Spurs in the finals back in June. For Miličić, joining that environment, even on a trial basis, represents a major step toward the league he's long dreamed of playing in.

Should he catch the eye of the coaching staff, several paths could open up for him. He might be assigned to the Knicks' affiliate side, the Westchester Knicks, or he could land a two-way deal that lets him shuttle between the NBA and the G League. There's also a chance he earns a straightforward minimum-salary contract, which would place him directly on New York's main roster.

A Player Who Won't Give Up
Miličić has been turning heads with the Polish national team of late, and he's never hidden his determination to make it in the NBA. He's previously spoken about staying in top physical shape and continuing to push for his chance, expressing confidence that this could finally be the year it happens. He's also mentioned interest from multiple clubs circling him.

Last season, he spent time with the Delaware Blue Coats in the G League, appearing in 45 games and putting up averages of 6.9 points and 4.8 rebounds. He also got some NBA exposure through seven Summer League appearances with the San Antonio Spurs.

With this trial, Miličić becomes the second Polish player linked to an NBA roster heading into the 2026/27 season, joining Jeremy Sochan, who now plays for the Portland Trail Blazers.
