Traffic flow monitoring/management technology
In particular, it will place cameras with license plate recognition in the Old Town and the historic Kazimierz Jewish quarter. These will redirect the traffic and control access. Intelligent traffic management, using artificial intelligence to help in keeping the bus lanes clear, will be a method that helps enforce traffic regulations, impacting and safeguarding the quality of service for public transport operations.
Completion Expected by 2029
The new system will start operating in 2021 and is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of 2029. City officials anticipate the project will greatly increase transportation access, decrease congestion, and improve safety on city streets.
