Maja Klajda, Miss Polonia 2024, who is 22 years old, got a right royal welcome when she touched down at Fryderyk Chopin Airport in Warsaw. She was back in India for a pageant a few weeks ago where she was crowned Miss World Europe and became the 2nd Runner-Up for Miss World title. Opal Suchata Chuangsri from Thailand was awarded the crown, with Dereje Admassu of Ethiopia being second.

Speaking after her arrival, Maja explained some of the difficulties she endured in the process - from her flight being behind schedule to being stranded in Dubai for 8 hours after missing her connection. “It was a long trip that lasted several days,” she said. “The hospitality was amazing in India — ribbons and photos and recordings.” She added: 'I had the crown and sash in my hand luggage the entire trip in case I ever needed them for anything.
Seeing Eye to Eye on the World Stage
Maja conceded she had doubts of her own going into the competition, particularly after Karolina Bielawska from Poland scooped the Miss World title in 2021. She was distinguished by her height, being one of the tallest finalists at 180 cm. “A lot of people saw my height,” she said, justifiably proud of sticking out on the global scene.
Looking Ahead with Purpose
Thanking the world for her success, Maja explained that having a larger platform means making more of her dreams and ideas a reality. “I can now share my plans at a bigger scale,” she said, noting that she is already working on new projects. She stressed the importance of European diversity – all languages and cultures are valuable and unity can be achieved through respect for each other.
