Unimot has taken a 400,000 złoty (more than €93,000) stake in PZL Defence, a business established on July 21 by Polish defense contractor PZL Sędziszów and one unnamed Ukrainian capital-side partner. On their part, 'PZL Sędziszów' has 85 an 85-year-long tradition in the defence industry and their partner from Ukraine has the experience from the battlefields to offer.

Unimot CEO Adam Sikorski said of the company's response, "We realize the dynamically growing importance of unmanned technologies for regional security. They are therefore participating in a project where Polish engineering is being brought together with the unique Ukrainian experience learned on the ground in real combat.

Following the investment, Unimot will own 40% of shares in PZL Defence, the Ukrainian partner 50% and PZL Sędziszów 10%.
Drones and Anti-Drone Tech The use of drones as flying sentinels is expanding beyond the military and the government to businesses and other private-sector entities.

Initially, PZL Defence will produce drones for the civilian market, such as aerial reconnaissance, monitoring, pipeline inspection, or air quality monitoring, before transferring technology to military drones and anti-drone systems to protect critical infrastructure.

The firm will also set up an independent research and development centre for the development of future technology, including reconnaissance drones, interceptor types, kamikaze drones, and anti-drone weapons.

The collaboration is an alignment of Polish industrial know-how with Ukraine's battlefield-proven forward thinking, and the blend could create a new driver in an emerging regional unmanned defense sector.
