Ryanair has confirmed a $300m winter 2025/26 schedule based at Newcastle International Airport. The plan also features the placement of a third Boeing 737 8 200 aircraft at the airport, which is developed for low-cost operation. The move is forecast to increase capacity by 36% over last year, with an additional 120,000 seats available over the winter.

New routes and expanded services
With the extra planes, the airline will open five new routes, to Brussels, Budapest, Gdańsk, Malta and Wrocław. Schedules to common holiday spots, including Alicante, Dublin, and Krakow, are being boosted as well, keeping Europe within reach.
Passenger growth forecast
Adding to this will mean Ryanair, which bases a plane at the airport, expects to fly approximately a million customers a year from Newcastle. The improvement has been hailed as the latest positive sign of the increasing importance of the North East of England as a gateway for budget flights to Europe.
