Initial Departures and Ticketing Opportunities
The first trian fror Warsow to Rieka will take place on Friday, 27 June 2025. Trains will operate between Poland and Croatia four times a week — on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Return flights from Croatia will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The service will end at the end of the summer, the last departure from Warsaw will be on August 29, and from Rijeka - August 31.
It will go on sale in early June 2025. Travellers may buy trip tickets on the eIC 2.0 electronic sales channel, the PKP Intercity mobile application and at counters of railway stations.
Details of Train Journey and the Route
The entire journey from Warsaw to Rijeka will last around 19 hours, crossing 5 countries from Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia. The service is an extension of the existing international IC "Sobieski" service between Warsaw and Vienna.
The train will call at significant stops in Poland including Opoczno, Włoszczowa, Zawiercie, Dąbrowa Górnicza, Sosnowiec, Katowice, Tychy, Rybnik, Wodzisław Śląski and Chałupk. The rideres from the cities of Krakow, Rzeszow, Kielce, Lodz, Opole, Wroclaw and Poznan will also be able to transfer to the train to Croatia, or from conducting PKP Intercity connections.
The train will arrive in Vienna around 10:00 PM, with the Czech Republic having been passed. In Slovenia it will connect with the night train “Istria” from Budapest. Port of Call: Ljubljana (Stopover scheduled around 6:00 am) arrives in Rijeka at around 9:00 am.
The new train line gives passengers an easy and green way to see the Adriatic coast over the summer.
