Poland Cruise Through Round of 16
There was never much doubt about how Saturday's match would go. Poland made quick work of Latvia in the round of 16, wrapping things up in straight sets with scores of 25–17, 25–16, and 25–16. Germany's road to the quarterfinals looked nothing like Poland's. Facing co-host Bulgaria in the round of 16, the match stretched all the way to a decisive fifth set before Germany finally came out on top, winning 3–2. The victory ended Bulgaria's tournament run on home soil and secured Germany a date with the defending champions.

That meeting is now set for Tuesday, when Poland and Germany will square off at Arena 8888 in Sofia, Bulgaria.

For Poland, this tournament represents a chance to hold onto the title they won back in 2023, when they beat co-host Italy 3–0 in the final held in Rome. That victory marked Poland's second European Championship title overall. Germany, meanwhile, are still searching for their first-ever European crown. Their closest brush with glory came in 2017, when they fell just short in a five-set final loss to Russia.
