Ukrainian House Foundation president Myroslava Keryk called the community to come together. "We must be a strong base for those who oppose fighting in Ukraine. Ukraine means freedom, democracy, and human rights, and we must stand as one. ‘They give me 34 years of independence.

Voices of Strength and Support
The Ukrainian Embassy in Poland also took part in the event. Larysa Sydorenko, the first secretary of the embassy, stressed the enduring spirit of the country: “At present, we Ukrainians are a great and unshakable nation. I thank all those who continue to keep the language, the culture, and to raise children in the spirit of Ukrainianness even abroad.”

Back on the streets of Warsaw, the men and women who had marched in silence burst into song, raising flags and shouting thanks to Poland for its continued support.

Messages from Kyiv and Beyond
President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine spoke to the nation in a televised address in Kyiv. Ukraine restores a state that is powerful enough to live in peace and safety,” he said, so that future generations will be able to freely celebrate Independence Day in their own land.

World leaders from Poland, the United States, China, the United Kingdom, Canada, and elsewhere also offered congratulations to Ukraine. Ukraine originally declared independence on August 24, 1991, seceding from the Soviet Union. The Ukrainian House foundation, which was launched originally as “Our Choice” in Warsaw in 2009, has been assisting Ukrainians in Poland. Renamed in 2022, it remains a venue for cultural, educational, and community programs to service the bonding of Ukrainians and Poles.
