Wrocław Breaks Its Own Record With Massive 'Hey Joe' Guitar Performance
The Polish city of Wrocław once again found itself in the headlines, having beaten its own world record. On Thursday, the Market Square of the city was crowded with 8,122 musicians playing Hey Joe, a classic tune by Jimi Hendrix. This is a tradition that started in 2003 when a mere 588 guitarists participated in setting the first record of this kind. It was the momentous occasion since that day, the meeting grew in size annually, with thousands of musicians coming to Wrocław, hoping to defeat the previous record. Last year’s meeting was a bit underwhelming, as around 7,531 musicians participated while in 2023 the record was 7,967.
