Nawrocki's Energy Stand Sparks Political Clash

When President-elect Karol Nawrocki chose to debut at the National Security Council (RBN) meeting, he didn't mince words–sponsor Poland's power independence with coal, nuclear power and, as he put it, "common sense"–or the EU wizards of the Green Deal unrealistic for the country.

"Poland's energy security is the foundation of our sovereignty and the stability of our economy," Nawrocki said after attending the session at the invitation of outgoing president Andrzej Duda.

The comments prompted quick reactions, particularly in light of the fact that Nawrocki allegedly showed up at the meeting with confidence, approaching Polish PM Donald Tusk and acting as if he had already assumed the office.

Capitulation is a fact." His remark reflected on whether endeavours to discredit Nawrocki were out-of-date as well as useless.

The spat is identical to a deepening rift in Polish politics at a time when the new administration prepares to move in, with energy as a bellwether in the ideological battlefield.
