The attack took place during the Boulder Run for Their Lives, a weekly walk occurring in part to express support for hostages held as a result of the October 7, 2023 attacks in Israel. Emergency crews discovered several victims with burns at the scene, Boulder Police Chief Stephen Redfearn said. The suspect was throwing several bottles with flammable liquid at the officers and vehicles which then ignited upon impact. Two people were reported injured in the collision.

The Anti-Defamation League said the attack came just before the Jewish holiday of Shavuot, which commemorates the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai. The local Jewish community expressed sorrow with a joint statement saying they were “saddened and heartbroken” by the violence against peaceful demonstrators.

Investigation is Ongoing and Federal Charges are Possible
The suspect has not been identified by the police, though federal authorities are weighing terrorism charges. FBI agents and federal prosecutors are reviewing the evidence to assess whether the attack meets the definition of terrorism or whether it falls under other federal criminal laws. It has also been reported that the mental health condition of the suspect is a subject of investigation in the case.

The National Counterterrorism Center is coordinating with the FBI and local law enforcement, according to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. FBI Director Kash Patel publicly mourned the attack, congratulating his agency for its active participation, which he described as a “targeted terror attack.” Deputy Director Dan Bongino concurred, describing the attack as motivated by ideology.

Officials’ Reactions and Condemnation of the Attack
President Donald Trump has been informed about the incident and this is a developing story with all levels of response from local and federal agencies being dispatched, according to Colorado Governor Jared Polis. Hate-filled acts of any kind are unacceptable, the governor’s office emphasized.

Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, denounced the incident as terrorism and called on countries to go beyond issuing statements. “It’s time to take severe measures against whoever these inciters are, everywhere they are,” he said.

Poland Revives Military Medical School to Fix Defence Healthcare Crisis

Poland is taking a decisive step to fix one of its most overlooked defence weaknesses. The government has approved a draft law to bring back a military medical academy in the city of Łódź — an institution that was shut down over two decades ago. If parliament gives the green light, the academy could be up and running as early as July this year, with the first classes expected to begin in 2027. The move signals a growing recognition that building a stronger army is only half the equation — keeping soldiers alive on the battlefield is the other half.

Estonia Arrests Record 16 Russian Intelligence Collaborators

Estonia had a landmark year in counterintelligence. The country's Internal Security Service, known as KAPO, revealed that 16 collaborators working on behalf of Russian intelligence were identified and stopped in the past year alone — the highest number ever recorded in a single year. It's a figure that speaks volumes about how aggressively Moscow is pushing to extend its reach into the small Baltic nation, and how hard Estonian authorities are working to push back.
KAPO's annual security yearbook, released Monday, made one thing crystal clear: Russia, driven by what the agency described as an "imperialist mindset," remains Estonia's most serious and enduring security threat.
