Poles Urged to Avoid Traveling to Pakistan Amid Rising Tensions

The rumours have created bad blood between the two states, which had already escalated after a Pakistani-backed group of gunmen killed 26 people in Indian-administered Kashmir in April. The Indian government has blamed Pakistan, claiming the group responsible was funded by their secret service, and relations between the two nuclear-armed countries are far from ideal.

The Polish embassy in Pakistan reportedly posted a warning on X urging its citizen to avoid travelling to Pakistan under all circumstances. The embassy has stressed that the country’s airspace is currently closed due to the ongoing conflict and has advised the inbound travelers to follow local authorities’ instructions. * X, the Polish embassy in Pakistan, reportedly “tweeted” on Friday while the Polish consulate in India has published a similar warning.

The warning caption reads that the flights to/from India might be interrupted. It is also suggested in the warning that all travelers should contact the airline they will be flying with to follow up on changes*. In turn, the Polish national airline announced on X that all LOT flights to India would follow an alternative route, as they will no longer be using the Pakistani airspace. Meanwhile, at least 36 people have been killed, and the number of injured reaches 94 after the attacks between India and Pakistan. The violence occurred from Tuesday to Wednesday night, with the Indian army hitting the Pakistani army and vice versa, according to Indian police and Pakistani military officials.
