Sloviansk Hit Hard as Front Line Pressure Mounts
The city of Sloviansk took two bomb strikes in quick succession. Three people were killed. Five others were wounded and taken for medical treatment. Regional prosecutors confirmed the attacks, adding to a grim running toll that eastern Ukrainians have grown painfully familiar with.

Sloviansk holds particular strategic weight in this war. It sits within what military planners call Ukraine's "fortress belt" — a string of heavily defended cities meant to slow and absorb Russia's grinding push through the Donetsk region. Donetsk remains the hottest stretch of the front line, and holding cities like Sloviansk is central to Ukraine's defensive strategy.

Drones Rain Down on Zaporizhzhia, Shopping Center Catches Fire
Further south, the city of Zaporizhzhia faced a different kind of assault. Dozens of drones descended on the city in a coordinated wave. One man died inside his car. Seven more people were hurt. Regional Governor Ivan Fedorov confirmed that five separate strikes hit the city that night.

The damage was visible and widespread. A residential building caught fire. A shopping center went up in flames. An educational institution also sustained damage. Images circulating online showed fire burning inside a building, flames climbing across a rooftop, and at least one wall reduced to a crumbled facade.

Both Russia and Ukraine maintain that they do not deliberately target civilians. But the bodies, the burns, and the broken buildings tell a story that keeps repeating itself — night after night, city after city.
