Leadership Adjustments Due to Losses
According to the reports, Army chief Oleksandr Syrskyi ordered the removal of Volodymyr Silenko as commander of the 17th army corps, which operated in the Zaporizhzhia region, and moved Maksym Kituhin from his leadership position over the 20th army corps in territory adjacent to the boundary between the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. These dismissals followed Ukrainian withdrawals from at least one village along the Dnipro River, in addition to across-the-board Russian advances in eastern Ukraine. As reported, both Silenko and Kituhin were reassigned to other assignments.

Russian Advances and Changing Positions
The Russian Defence Ministry reported that they took the town of Olhivske in Zaporizhzhia, and even if the efforts to push westward were slow, the Russian forces have persistently done so in Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions. The Russian forces have also targeted parts of northeastern Kharkiv around the very blistered city of Kupiansk, and have attempted to maintain positions around the Ukrainian border in Sumy. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy posted on X from Syrskyi, saying that Kyiv's forces have been able to take land back in parts of Ukraine despite the persisting pressure.
