Czarnek Slams Divorce Bill, Cites Constitutional Risk

In the video, Czarnek included a media clip of a spat between Kosiniak-Kamysz of the Polish People's Party (PSL) and Biejat from the Left party. The battle involves a proposal to introduce a new bill to enable couples to divorce without going to court.

Constitutional Questions Raised
Czarnek did not mince words in his response: "Everything is collapsing," he said, in reference to the increasing internal tensions in the December 13 coalition. He attacked the move towards quickie divorce and stressed that such legislation would erode the constitutional basis of family protection.

Czarnek claimed, citing article 18 of the Polish Constitution, "Anything that weakens the family goes against article 18 of the Constitution. He called on PSL members to reject the proposal and "leave it in the rubbish of history" and expressed his hope that the party would remain steadfast in opposing it as "an unconstitutional absurdity".

Czarnek's remarks indicate increasing tensions within the governing coalition, at a time when disputes over fundamental social matters are increasingly exposing divisions within the camp.
