A Finish Too Close to Call
The race in Birmingham ended dramatically, with both Skrzyszowska and Dutch sprinter Nadine Visser crossing the line in identical times of 12.67 seconds. With nothing to separate them on the clock, officials had to turn to the photo finish to determine a winner. After close examination, the verdict went in Visser's favour, who was declared champion by just 0.001 seconds, a gap so small it's barely measurable to the human eye. France's Laëticia Bapté rounded out the podium, taking home the bronze medal.

A Familiar Spot on the Podium
For Skrzyszowska, this heartbreakingly close defeat still extends an impressive run of consistency at the continental level. This marks her third straight European Championships medal, a streak that began with gold in Munich back in 2022. She followed that up with a bronze finish in Rome two years later, and now adds another silver to her growing collection. Even without the top step this time, her run of podium finishes shows she remains one of the most reliable hurdlers on the European circuit.
