With tensions rising between Israel and Iran, the Polish government is finalizing plans for evacuation flights from the Middle East. The work to secure a safe and orderly arrival of our citizens has been completed by about 90 percent," the Polish defence chief, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, said. "There is no fee for returning to the country. The Air Force has been readying to assist since the very first hours of this crisis," he said on social media.
There has also been a heavy death toll, with Iranian cruise missiles hitting Tel Aviv on Sunday night. At least five Israelis died and 87 more were injured in the recent round of violence.
Routes and Coordination in Progress
With Israel shutting its airspace to civilian flights, the evacuation plan calls for the civilians to travel by land to Jordan, and from there on flights bound for Poland. Sea evacuations are also an option if required, officials said. They may also charter civilian planes to get their citizens back.
According to the Polish Foreign Ministry, some 200 Polish citizens had officially registered, as residents, in Israel. He is working on their release.

The Polish Foreign Ministry has also issued a strong recommendation for citizens in Iran to leave the country by land. Work continues in conjunction with both EU and NATO allies to ensure effective control of the situation and assistance throughout the evacuation.

Officers of the Polish Border Guard have intercepted a drone carrying approximately 400 packets of smuggled cigarettes believed to have originated from Belarus. The drone was discovered in a wooded area located in the vicinity of Krynki in the province of Podlaskie, which is close to the border with Belarus. Officials stated that the operation commenced after a nearby resident notified the authorities, leading to police and fire services attending to the scene and securing it.
The Border Guard reported that all of the cigarette packets had Belarusian excise stamps. "Inside the drone, Border Guard officers found about 400 packs of cigarettes. Further actions in this case are being undertaken by the Border Guard," officials said.
