U.S. President Donald Trump has raised eyebrows by likening his recent meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to one of the Cold War's most notorious stalemates. Trump on Thursday posted the two images to his Truth Social account.

India was now "cosying up to both Russia and China," Navarro wrote in an opinion piece, warning Delhi's actions were "eroding its status as a strategic partner of the U.S."
Polish President Karol Nawrocki will take part in a teleconference of European leaders on Ukraine on Wednesday at the request of U.S. President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Donald Tusk told reporters late Tuesday. Tusk, a centrist and former president of the European Council, was expected to be present at first. Tusk's political rival is Nawrocki, a conservative nationalist and eurosceptic who supports Trump's MAGA movement. He was at the White House in the spring for Poland's presidential campaign, which his party's candidate won in June over Tusk's party.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has ruled out any Russian demand to remove Ukrainian forces from the eastern Donbas region. We said it would take away from Kyiv some vital defence lines and allow a new round of aggression not only in this direction, but also in others.
All EU member states except Hungary have backed a joint declaration demanding that Ukraine be part of any peace talks on its future. It was approved on Monday by leaders of the other 26 EU countries, who insisted that any discussions should include Ukraine.
