On March 16, 2013, Poland's Foreign Minister, Radosław Sikorski, was very critical of an alternative funding proposal for defense that was put forward by President Karol Nawrocki's team. The criticism was made just after the President's office put forward a competing proposal to the European Union's SAFE Program for Defense. A new public opinion survey shows that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy continues to be the most trusted foreign leader among Polish people, although his confidence has reduced significantly since 2022. The study looked at the public level of trust in key international leaders, as well as highlighting differences in how Polish citizens perceive the world's key political figures.
Former Ukrainian Military Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi has disclosed previously unknown information regarding an incident where agents from Ukraine's domestic security service (SBU) searched his office out of spite for his increasing friction with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. After being removed as Head of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2024, Zaluzhnyi was appointed ambassador to the UK. He discussed his relationship with the top level of government previously, but wanted to add more context to the events surrounding the search of his office to develop the narrative of what happened when tensions were growing.
