Under investigation, Polish officials are continuing to investigate a drone which crashed and exploded near the town of Łuków in the east of the country. All emergency procedures were performed correctly after the incident, which officials have described as a "provocation," they said on Thursday.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki will take part in a teleconference of European leaders on Ukraine on Wednesday at the request of U.S. President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Donald Tusk told reporters late Tuesday. Tusk, a centrist and former president of the European Council, was expected to be present at first. Tusk's political rival is Nawrocki, a conservative nationalist and eurosceptic who supports Trump's MAGA movement. He was at the White House in the spring for Poland's presidential campaign, which his party's candidate won in June over Tusk's party.

In just three days, Poland has recorded details of more than 500 attempted illegal border crossings by people trying to come in from Belarus, fuelling new fears that the country may be prepared to push forward with another scripted migrant crisis. According to the Polish Border Guard Service, it reported over 550 incidents in the Podlaskie region between August 9 and 11.
In southeastern Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region, a Russian missile strike killed three people in the town of Stepnohirsk on Sunday, regional governor Ivan Fedorov said. Russian forces were sweeping over the 1000-kilometre front line, and the attack battered private homes.
